Great ambiance, great customer service, really great selection of wine and great food that was of quality. Definitely coming back!

Wow what great energy there! Lively wine bar, great selections and staff was on top of it! Usually wine bars a a tad tame but this one puts out :) can't wait to return

Cute intimate place with a chill atmosphere. Came here on a Friday night and was able to find a table easily. Walked up to the bar and shared my taste and flavor preferences with the bartender. My favorite part of Covell is that they let you taste the wine before you purchase your glass. I loved this because as a picky wine girl - I was able to choose a wine that I knew I liked!! They have a large selection of wines and in my group of 3, we were all able to find a wine that we liked (and we all have very different preferences). I would love to come back to try the food!! But overall, loved the atmosphere and service here(:

Perfect bar if you're looking to share a drink with a friend and catch up. Crowd is 30-45 ish for the most part, but nonetheless I highly recommend!

Cozy bar, good for small group/date/1-1 friend catchup. Good choice of different craft beers Perfect to check out if there's a wait for the restaurant you're trying! Would come back when in the area

I would give Covell five stars if their kitchen was a little faster, or fast at all. I get that it's a small space (from what I can see from the bar as the kitchen is in plain sight), but at least give your guests an update on why their food order is taking over thirty minutes to prepare... Kitchen-speed aside, Covell is a quaint spot for a glass of wine with friends or dates. I'm impressed by the vast selection of white and red wines along with the occasional celebrity sighting as an added bonus; met Brett Dier aka Michael from Jane the Virgin, and that elevated my visit as he proved to be an absolute gentleman. The bartenders are nice, knowledgable on the wine list, and make small talk when time allows given that they are running the show most nights. Covell is worth the visit for the wine selection and atmosphere alone; I wouldn't recommend ordering food unless you're an extremely patient person, which is unfortunate considering that the food is actually delicious.

We came here for Valentine's Day! While looking for something romantic but also laid-back, I came across Covell. They have an attached, intimate event space and were hosting a comedy night, as well as a live poet with a typewriter. It sounded perfect and I immediately loved how charming, unique and warm the space was. If I lived in Los Feliz, I'd be a regular here! We couldn't find a posted menu, but the way ordering works here is to describe what you're looking for to the very wine-knowledgeable bartenders, and they make recommendations for samples until you find your perfect glass. I described what I usually like and he nailed it on the first try. There is also draft beer if you aren't a wino. We were just feeling a lil peckish and ordered the Ricotta Toast and Chorizo and Dates and although they don't serve to the event space during a show, one of us saved a table while the other one went back for the food. The menu has a wide, interesting variety of snacks as well as fuller meals, which I appreciated! Overall, we had a great experience here and all of the staff were super nice. Highly recommend for a date night, catching up with friends, or just to hang out solo!

Covell is one of my favorite wine bars! I learned about it through a friend years ago, and it is one of my standbys if I'm looking to have a glass of wine in my neighborhood. It's located on Hollywood Boulevard near an area with several restaurants, so street parking can be difficult during peak hours. However, it is also walking distance form a Metro station if you are open to using public transportation. The staff are very knowledgeable and can guide you to a wine selection that matches a specific varietal or flavor profile. You can sample a few before making a decision, and you can also shop for wine to take home. Beer and cider is also available on draft, and there is a limited food menu available. I tend to sit outside, but the interior is great if you are looking for a dimly lit and swanky vibe.

A small little wine bar that has a great selection and some small bites. I actually didn't have any bites because I was meeting some friends here to try out this place before we had dinner nearby. I'm not sure if this is the usual modus operandi because I didn't know much about this place when my friends told me to meet them here, but basically I was told to tell one of the folks what I was looking for and they typically suggest something for you. So I told the very friendly and hospitable lady I was looking for something "full bodied and oaky". She brought back three different bottles and let me try a bit of each before I decided. I was very happy with the suggestions and with my selection. I really thought that system was really cool. Definitely a really nice place to meet up with friends for wine. I could see this being a good first date place as well. We were here during the middle of the week later at night so parking wasn't too hard to find.

A unique bar that does not offer a wine menu but rather a conversation with your bartender about what kind of wine you like. I said we like Pinot but we're interested in having natural wine tonight so they brought out 3 bottles. An orange and two chilled reds. All were very funky to be honest so I asked if they had any central coast wine since we like that region. He brought out another bottle and we loved it! So went with a wine called Scottie-Boy. They were busy so service was on the slower side but still a quality experience when we were face to face. It's dim and cozy in there. Lit by candlelight. A great environment for conversation. Since there is no menu, you have no idea what you are paying for and it would be a bit awkward to ask the price for each wine you taste. We ended up paying $20 a glass which feels on the higher side of what is normally order. Overall, a memorable experience and I recommend.
